After winning re-election as House Speaker on Tuesday for the third time, after kissing a very happy Nancy Pelosi, and after taking revenge on the 25 brave ones who actually had the fortitude to do what their constituents wanted them to by voting against him, a “pained” John Boehner said this to patronize those “frustrated” with him:
“It does pain me to be described as spineless or a squish.”
“What pains me most is when they describe me as the establishment.”
“I am the most anti-establishment Speaker we’ve ever had.”
And the media giggled.
