Ahhh, Labor Day. Some might say it’s that symbolic last day of summer. Others say it’s the last day of the season that we ladies can wear white shoes. While others see it simply as another 3-day weekend intended for a relaxing mini-vacation or barbecue with friends.
But What do the “Laborers” Celebrate on Labor Day?
Jim Hoffa, the General President of the 1.4million-member strong International Brotherhood of Teamsters, fully understands the real meaning of Labor Day – i.e., “economic democracy” (more on that Marxist fallacy in a later post).
Hoffa had this to say today at an annual Labor Day celebration in Detroit, Michigan. President Obama was also scheduled to be in attendance at this event.
“We gotta keep an eye on the battle that we face, a war on workers, and you see it everywhere it is the tea party.”
“The one thing about working people is we like a good fight and you know what, they got a war, they got a war with us, with us and there’s only gonna be one winner, and it’s gonna be the workers of Michigan and America we’re gonna win that war.”
“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these SOBs out.”
